The title was just a little sarcastic about today. I have to be at work at 5pm and won't get off until 5am tomorrow morning. I crashed at midnight and even though I set my alarm for 3am, I fell back asleep. Now, I'm up at 6am. Hopefully, tonight won't be too, too bad; I know it's still going to be bad since it will be my first night working in over 2 months.
My stomach is also still really upset from last nights meal and 2 beers. Lesson Learned. I'm hoping for a 2:30pm workout.

{ugh.}
Tonight I met a few co-workers at a pub. I decided tonight would be my cheat night. Boy do I feel like c.r.a.p. I got artichoke dip when I first got there because I was starving and thought it would be awhile before others started showing. No, they showed up almost after my dip did. In hindsight, I'm thinking maybe only the dip should have been my dinner. I didn't eat all of it though. Then I got a black & bleu burger and ate 3/4 of it and about 1/2 my fries. I also had 2 beers. One was a milk stout (oh so yummy) and the other was an apricot blonde (again, oh so yummy). Now, I'm home and I'm so bloated and miserable! :( Maybe I won't have cheat days. I'm definitely laying off the alcohol, with the exception of a glass or two of red wine every now and then.
{Good Morning, Beautiful}
So, even though I didn't have the best sleep last night, I still woke-up feeling great this morning. Well, that is until my mom called. I'm not sure why but it drives me crazy that she calls when she sees things on the news about my area. I live in Aurora, Colorado, home of the theater shooting (geez it's already on Wiki). Anyway, so with any news here, or Denver, she calls. There was a recent hostage situation yesterday morning. It happened yesterday morning. I talked to her at 5:30 last night. She read the article this morning. You see why I may have been slightly annoyed? Anyway. Despite that happening first thing, it was still a good day.
I'm still eating well for #operationredbikini. I know that was my main thing for not losing weight. Even though I don't eat horrible, it wasn't the best either. So far today I've had 2 scrambled eggs with 3 slices of turkey bacon and half a serving of oatmeal with sunflower seeds and craisins. It was very tasty. That should keep me for quite a few hours. Part of my workout today will be some major cleaning!
I'm not sure if I've ever even really mentioned my story behind my weight gain. Honestly, it began after joining the Air Force 7 1/2 years ago. I was in decent shape for being 25. If I didn't drink as much as I did at that time I probably could have been in better shape, but that wasn't a worry of mine. So, at 25 years old I joined the Air Force and got into the best shape of my life. I went in at 125lbs and came out at 125lbs but lost 2 dress sizes! Crazy, right? It was great. I felt great. I never even thought about it. I guess that was always my problem... When you don't have to worry about your weight because you are forced to eat semi-decent and you work out 5 days a week.
Then I got stationed at my first (and only) duty station, here in good ole Colorado. Our schedule is called the "Panama" Schedule. Because we are a 24 hour type of operation, we work in 12 hour shifts. The days you work go like this: work Mon & Tues, off Wed & Thurs, work Fri, Sat, & Sun, off Mon & Tues, work Wed & Thurs, off Fri, Sat, & Sun. You also rotate every 2 weeks from days to nights and then back to days, etc. It's really a horrible schedule. I think anytime you have to work nights is horrible. It's not natural and my body hates it. I get so little sleep because I'm such a day person. Anyway, so that was my schedule and for the AF, our workout routine changed. You only had to attend mandatory PT (physical training) twice a week and then you could workout the rest on your own. Say what? So, I gained what I like to call the "Freshmen 10" since it was like being in college all over again, to include living in dorms with roommates (you share a common area and bathroom with 1 other person but have your own bedroom). So, in 2 years I'd gained those extra 10lbs, which still isn't too bad considering I'm 5'2".
Then this happened and it's all been downhill from there. Now, I'm working on still losing the weight from that surgery. I've not been very consistent until last year. Even then, I was more consistent but not 100%. I am DE-termined to lose this weight. I am 110% looking forward to CrossFit. I know it's going to be painful and I know I'll probably be hating myself as I'm doing it, but I've got the results to look forward to. As long as I can keep up with the eating right part of it, I know I'll be fine. Even with eating the way I use to, I still know I can lose weight, I just know it will be even better with eating better.
Because of my work schedule, I have to wait about 2 weeks before I can try out the CrossFit gym I'm interested in. The new schedule I'm going to better be eff'ing amazing.

{Horrible outside run}
I ran with MapMyRun! Distance: 1.28mi, time: 17:16, pace: 13:29min/mi, speed: 4.45mi/h. http://mapmyrun.com/view_route?r=599135741561165506
My first outdoor run in over a year. I'm not kidding when I say I hate running. I usually avoid it at all costs. I'm making myself do it though for my upcoming 5k on the 19th. I suck at it, but with persistence I know my time will get better.
Gandalf ran with me & did so much better than I did! ;-) I let him enjoy some of my banana with me once we got home.

{Doing it right}
So, I decided to no longer blog on my "workout" blog but to, instead, put it all here. I've no idea what I was thinking when I set 2 blogs up, it was a few years ago. Since I've been regularly blogging on both though, it's been annoying to me to blog on 2 different blogs. What's the point? Anyway, so all of my workout stuff will be on here now.
I have to say, I've been pretty motivated to try out CrossFit. Mostly all due to Liz at One Twenty Five. She wrote an awesome blog on CrossFit. It's really informative as she explains a lot about it and what to expect. I'm extremely worried about going into it not as fit as I'd like to be, but isn't that the point though? I was told by someone else that you probably should be a little more fit before beginning. I know, though, that they are not just going to throw me to the wolves. There are two gyms I'm interested in right now and I'll go to both to see which one I like best.
I've also decided that since I'll be doing crossfit, and it's way more expensive than a gym membership, that I'll not renew my 24 Hour Fitness membership. It's only $189, and while I hate passing that up, I know I can go to the base gym for free. I also know that if I ever have the hankering to go at 2 in the morning, I can always go to the gym in my building (as much as I'd hate that). Both gyms are free and that's the point. I'll pay for CrossFit and use the free gyms for any other workout I need.
I've also been doing decent at eating the Eat Right for Your Blood Type. Last night I made "curried carrot soup." It was pretty good but I think I needed to let the carrots cook a little more before I blended them. Overall, it was tasty.

{So much to do, so little time}
Bahahaha... That is mot definitely not my mantra right now. I've got so much time it's almost embarrassing. Ah well, such is the single life? Is that really how it is and should be? I kinda refuse to believe that. A co-worker (male) mentioned today that he didn't want to hear me complaining, ever, about my single life because of all the guys that come over to talk to me. Um. Hello. They're married guys. None of the single guys ever come talk to me. What's up with that? I refuse to believe that I'm unattractive. I'm not gorgeous, by any means, but I do believe I'm not unattractive. I think my personality is okay. I'm aware of what I believe are my weaknesses. I have no idea though of which single guys are interested in me. I like to think I'm personable and approachable. Maybe I'm not? Maybe it's the guys? I don't know.
Yeahhhhhh... I definitely did not intend for this post to become that kind of post haha. It's a new year. I guess it's just naturally where my mind is, especially with this co-worker pointing out all the supposed guys talking to me. How's about all the single guys talk to me. ;)

{2012}
What can I say about 2012? It was an okay year. I met some great people with Joining LM in 2011 and I had a full year to get to know these people and I love them. They are funny, kind, pain in the behind, but truly good people. I did take a new job and I'm looking forward to what it may bring. I hope 2013 brings new friends, new experiences, new crushes and loves.
I don't really believe in resolutions. I think it's dumb to wait until January of each year to change something or try something new. Why wait to do tomorrow what can be done today? Right? The only real goal I've set for myself is to run a 5k race each month of 2013 and that's only because I just thought of it a few weeks ago. I can't even take the credit for the idea, but read it in another blog. Unfortunately, I don't remember which one since I read so many!
Anyway, good luck to everyone on your own goals and resolutions for 2013. I hope it finds you healthy and happy.
