Finishing up my family vacation recap...
Tuesday we went to Apex Center in Arvada because they have ice skating and indoor swimming.
This was so much fun!
We arrived at the center about 15 minutes before the ice skating ended so they awesomely gave me 4 free passes to go again! They also let us skate about 15 minutes longer.
The indoor water park was absolutely so much fun!
They have 2 huge slides: one to go down individually and the other to go down on a tube.
My niece and I did both once. I'm not too sure she enjoyed it like she said she did since she was adamant about not going down either again. Haha!
My nephew is fearless! He even had to have one of the lifeguards jump in a deep pool after him.
Somehow he got away from my mom and dad as my niece and I were going down the slide.
Wednesday we took it easy. We'd been going non-stop and I think my parents needed a break!
So, my niece and I went and saw The Great and Powerful Oz. My nephew, at 4, doesn't have much of an attention span, so he didn't go with us. Instead, my parents took him to lunch at Buckley AFB. My niece and I loved the movie! It's probably the most beautiful movie I've ever seen. I didn't care so much for Mila Kunis though. The only movie I've thought she's done well in is The Black Swan. In this movie, her acting skills just weren't up to par.
After the movies, my niece and I went to Charming Charlie. I told her if she saved her chore money, I'd match it. She came here with $40, so I gave her $50 (a little more than matching). She did so good and got a great loot for her money! It also helped that I'd received 2 coupons in the mail shortly before they arrived.
Thursday we went to Winter Park, Colorado. I'd bought a Groupon for tubing.
Of course, we could have went sledding down here, in Aurora, but most of the snow's melted. Besides, Winter Park is absolutely beautiful, as well as the drive up there. We were about 9200 feet above sea level. My dad's been having major back problems (more than likely from all those Airborne jumps he's made), so he decided to stay home and rest up. Everyone had so much fun up there! There were 4 different lanes you could tube down. Lane 1 being the slowest and lane 4 being the fastest. We also did tandem tubes since my niece didn't want to go down by herself and my nephew had to go down with someone. We did lane 2 first to kind of test the waters. After that, it was lane 4 all the way! For the groupon, you get to tube for an hour. We got to go down about 10 or so times because all the people in our group.
Friday was pretty busy. We went to the Butterfly Pavilion, Hammond's Candy Factory Tour, and a hike at Lair O'The Bear Park.
They left Saturday and now I'm a sad panda.
