Homemade Alfredo

For the first time ever, I made some homemade Alfredo sauce from this recipe.  I didn't saute onions and garlic. Instead, I just added the minced garlic mid-way through the ground turkey cooking process.  I also added some of my own seasonings to the meat.  I thought it wouldn't be as good since I didn't have any Parmesan cheese to add to the recipe.  That's why I chose this recipe though, specifically because it didn't call for any cheese.  I have to say, I wasn't disappointed.  It's thick, creamy, and my own seasonings made up for the lack of cheese.  It truly is divine.  It is 100% better than ANY of the jar Alfredo sauces bought in the stores.  :)

I also made "dirt" cake for tomorrow's BBQ.  It looks delicious!  I already know it tastes delicious too!  ;)  This recipe I got from my cousin Terri Sue.  I don't know where she got it from but I'm positive there are other recipe's out there.

1 1/4 bag oreo cookies, crushed (about 2 packages)
1/2 stick butter
1 c. powdered sugar
1 8oz. cream cheese
3 1/2 c. milk
2 small pkgs instant vanilla pudding
12 oz cool whip (you must pronounce it like Stewie from Family Guy as you make it!) haha

Mix last 6 ingredients together (you're going to need a large bowl for this) & layer with crushed oreos
- make the night before serving & keep refrigerated
- put in a clean flower pot & style with silk flowers is the cutest way to serve it!

What I've found is refrigerating the mix long enough for it to gel is the best way to layer it with the crushed oreos.

On a side note, I'm deleting my Facebook account tomorrow.  Kinda looking forward to it, as addictive as I am to it.  :)
