{Feeling Crafty}

Today I'm linking up with Marie at Blooming Homestead for

I've done about 2 different crafts lately but I'll only talk about 1 at a time. This is so I'll have plenty to talk about on upcoming Crafty Tuesday linkups.  :)

So, the craft I'm most proud of is the mirror I spray painted.  I know, not very original, but I'm very proud of it!
I found this mirror at the thrift store and as soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to spray paint it. What I didn't know, however, was what color or where I'd put it. So, I've actually had this mirror since November of 2012!

After speaking with a co-worker about this mirror, it finally dawned on me as to what color it should be and where it should go. So, I headed to my nearest Hobby Lobby and bought some black glossy spray paint.

I didn't take pictures of each step, but I was able to easily unscrew the back off the frame so I didn't have to tape anything up. I could just then paint the frame itself with no worries.

After spraying the heck out of this and letting it dry, I am completely happy with the finished product.

What I really like is that some of the gold shows through. I wasn't expecting that but should have been since I didn't sand it down or anything.

I have to say, I sent these pictures to my parents and they both said I should have colored the rose a different color since it looks morbid having a black rose. I say, no way. I think it's perfect the way it is.

And, now it sits perfectly in my hallway.
I also picked up that black fleur-de-lis at Hobby Lobby once I decided what I was going to do.
I think it all came together nicely.

Oh, and that shelf I've had for a few years now but it comes from Hobby Lobby as well.
I may, or may not, have an obsession with Hobby Lobby.

{The Perks of Being a Wallflower}

So, I just watched that movie, "The Perks of Being a Wallflower."

Wow. It was an incredibly beautiful movie.  If you've not seen it, I highly recommend you watch it and make sure your box of tissues are nearby.

In another world, I know I no longer have to worry about the boy mentioned in my post the other night.   It doesn't matter if he's not interested or not.
*Update*
Fine. I'll post my true feelings on this. Even though I was crazy, insanely confused in that last post, I still feel rejected. There, I said it. Anyway, a friend on the facebizzy made a post and it made me feel 10 times better and she doesn't even know it. I post hardly anything on FB anymore, unless it's about my runs. So, what was it she said? Here it is...
"Rejection is God's way of saying, "Wrong direction.""
Beautiful, right?
*End Update* ;)

Today I did week 2, day 1 of the couch to 5k program. It wasn't as good as the last run, but it still wasn't bad considering it was much cooler today and I was freezing my ass off. It felt good though.

I ran across a quote today that I absolutely loved in all its simplicity.

{How to be single}

So, it's been 3 years since I've been in a valid relationship.
I feel awkward at it now. I won't lie, I had a rebound "relationship" for a year and a half after that relationship ended. I also attempted 2 relationships after the rebound but they were a bust.

So, today I get a text from a friend I use to work with asking me what I was doing this weekend. It took me forever to respond because I didn't know if he was serious about trying to get together. You know the type... "We should get together this weekend" and then never try to do anything about it. I didn't respond to it and then later got a text asking if I wanted to get together later and that's why he was asking.

Ugh. So, this guy in particular... I used to "date" his friend/old roommate. His friend was my rebound after a 3 year relationship ended. I knew I didn't want to have a relationship with his friend. It just was what it was.

So, I wasn't (and still am not) sure what this guy wants. I don't know if he's interested or if he really is just interested in being friends.  What I do know is before my rebound, I completely would have been interested in this guy had I not already been in a relationship.

So, I was unsure if I wanted to hang out with him. I just didn't/don't know what he expects and i don't want to lead him on. He's super hot though. He's also about 10 years younger than me. 10 years. o_O

Anyway, I'm probably just reading more into than there really is. Being a girl about it and all.

I did have fun tonight though. It was good times.
He's also getting ready to deploy in May for another 6 months.

Oh, he's a Marine also.

{Random Saturday}

There truly is not much of anything I need to do today or this weekend.

I'm gonna have to try hard to not make it a lazy day. It shouldn't be too hard since I'd like to do day 3 of week 1's C25K today. It's going to get up to 60 degrees today! How awesome is that?! I may decide to hit the gym as well.

I also may or may not do this today to my box spring...

I suppose, if anything, I'll go to Hobby Lobby to price out the material and staple gun.

Yesterday I got my hair did. I always love it when they straighten it since it takes them 5 seconds and me 45 minutes. I also got an all over color and partial highlights. I rarely get my hair colored at the salon since it's cheaper for me to do it myself, but when in Rome. ;)

A before and after, if you please...

Oh, I also had to buy more of this great stuff...
I love this stuff! One, it makes your hair shiny. Two, it always helps calm down my fly-away pieces when I straighten it. Three, it definitely helps calm down my hair period when it's curly.

Last night I met up with a friend of mine who is moving to Virginia, courtesy of the Air Force. I got a little depressed by it. That's one crappy thing about the military life: You meet great, wonderful people and then they move. I wish him lots of luck though. He's been going through his own troubles that get him down. I hope this is a great move for him and living happy takes over for him.

{C25K Week 1 Day 2}

Whew. Yesterday was very windy! Temp wise, it would have been nice without the wind.
Overall, though, it was a good run. I really tried to pick-up my pace since I always run so slow. Distance isn't so much a problem for me as is my pace. Anyway, here are some pictures from the run.

Pretty good pace there for the run part. :)
I'm not sure I can say I've EVER had that pace.

This shows how erratic the dog was at the end lol

Windblown dog
At the end, he stopped and refused to go any further!
We were only a few feet away from the condo building too.
Crazy dog.

Yay! We made it!  :)

{February IPSY Glam Bag}

I first heard of Ipsy through the blog She's A Big Star.

It's a website you pay $10 a month to and get a make-up bag full of samples. For example January's sample was worth $45. I signed up too late, however, to get January's bag. Looking back on past bag's, they all look fantastic! So, I decided I was willing to pay $10 a month to send myself monthly beauty presents. Happy birthday, Merry Christmas and all that jazz to myself!

Yesterday, I got my first Glam Bag, February's Red Carpet Ready.

I'm not even sure I can describe how excited I was when I saw that bright pink, bubbly envelop in my mailbox!

They give so many hints on Facebook that you pretty much already know what to expect, but there's nothing like opening that package and see your gifts to yourself.

The great thing about this stuff is you get to try it all out to see if you like it. If you do like it, they usually offer discounts on buying the full product.

The eye shadow! I'm loving these colors!

A gel eyeliner. I've never used a gel eyeliner before, so I'll have to pick-up a brush for it.
I'm curious to test it out.

Mascara. I just bought new mascara before I signed up for this, so I'll save this for trips.

Foundation Primer. I've never used this, never even heard of it really.
I'm excited to try this out as well, to see how it works and if it works like it says it does.

And, finally...

The lash card. Again, I've never used this either. I do happen to get mascara under my lower eye all the time, so maybe this stuff will help alleviate that.

The make-up bag

I've also seen a lot of people saying they are on a wait list. I did not encounter that at all so I'm not sure what that's about.

All in all, I am a happy camper. I won't try any of this stuff out though until my next day off from work. I work in a windowless basement, under red lights (noooo, not the red light district), so there generally is no point in wearing make-up since NO one can tell anyway. Why waste the good stuff? ;)

***Update***
Oh! Who am I kidding?! I had to try this stuff out, even if it mean wiping it off immediately afterwards!
My thoughts...
The lash card was weird for me. I'm sure 60% of it the problem is just me. ;)
Either way, I didn't care too much for it and will most likely never use it again.
The gel eyeliner was weird as well. Turns out I did have a brush for it but never knew that's what it was for.
I definitely do not know how to use this stuff either but will try again. And again. And Again.
The rest of the stuff I liked. I didn't open the mascara though. I wanna save it for traveling.
And. Here's the results of my little project....

The far left is using the front-facing camera, so doesn't show the light as well.
The other two photo's are with the back-facing camera.
So, that's that.

My new Aveeno Make-Up Remover cloths cleaned it all up nicely, to include the mascara.
I <3 Aveeno products!

{Weigh-In Wednesday}

button

146 lbs
5'2"

Only a 1 pound difference from last week, but I'll take it. I haven't eaten the best I could have and I've only worked out twice in the last week (that includes my 5k race).

I can't even begin to tell you why I didn't workout. I just didn't want to. No excuses.

What I am happy with is I've been seeing a lot of NSV's the past few days. Clothes are beginning to feel looser on me. People are noticing and commenting on my weight loss.

I've also began the C25K program to help me improve my run time. I mean, lets face it, 40 minutes is slow for 3 miles. I'll get it done, though, don't you worry you're pretty little head. ;)

A good little note? I am 1 pound away from my short-term weight goal. Yay!

11 more pounds away from the next short-term weight goal.

Oh, I have to mention also... Please remember I'm short. I'm only 5 Feet 2 Inches. 146 lbs on a short frame just doesn't carry well. It looks better than the 155 I was 2 months ago!

I am also going to set-up a bodpod measurement on base since it's free for me for another 7 1/2 months until I have to give up that Air Force Reserve ID card.
