I first heard of Ipsy through the blog She's A Big Star.
It's a website you pay $10 a month to and get a make-up bag full of samples. For example January's sample was worth $45. I signed up too late, however, to get January's bag. Looking back on past bag's, they all look fantastic! So, I decided I was willing to pay $10 a month to send myself monthly beauty presents. Happy birthday, Merry Christmas and all that jazz to myself!
Yesterday, I got my first Glam Bag, February's Red Carpet Ready.
I'm not even sure I can describe how excited I was when I saw that bright pink, bubbly envelop in my mailbox!
They give so many hints on Facebook that you pretty much already know what to expect, but there's nothing like opening that package and see your gifts to yourself.
The great thing about this stuff is you get to try it all out to see if you like it. If you do like it, they usually offer discounts on buying the full product.
The eye shadow! I'm loving these colors!
A gel eyeliner. I've never used a gel eyeliner before, so I'll have to pick-up a brush for it.
I'm curious to test it out.
Mascara. I just bought new mascara before I signed up for this, so I'll save this for trips.
Foundation Primer. I've never used this, never even heard of it really.
I'm excited to try this out as well, to see how it works and if it works like it says it does.
And, finally...
The lash card. Again, I've never used this either. I do happen to get mascara under my lower eye all the time, so maybe this stuff will help alleviate that.
I've also seen a lot of people saying they are on a wait list. I did not encounter that at all so I'm not sure what that's about.
All in all, I am a happy camper. I won't try any of this stuff out though until my next day off from work. I work in a windowless basement, under red lights (noooo, not the red light district), so there generally is no point in wearing make-up since NO one can tell anyway. Why waste the good stuff? ;)
***Update***
Oh! Who am I kidding?! I had to try this stuff out, even if it mean wiping it off immediately afterwards!
My thoughts...
The lash card was weird for me. I'm sure 60% of it the problem is just me. ;)
Either way, I didn't care too much for it and will most likely never use it again.
The gel eyeliner was weird as well. Turns out I did have a brush for it but never knew that's what it was for.
I definitely do not know how to use this stuff either but will try again. And again. And Again.
The rest of the stuff I liked. I didn't open the mascara though. I wanna save it for traveling.
And. Here's the results of my little project....

My new Aveeno Make-Up Remover cloths cleaned it all up nicely, to include the mascara.
I <3 Aveeno products!
