Today I'm linking up with Marie at Blooming Homestead for

After speaking with a co-worker about this mirror, it finally dawned on me as to what color it should be and where it should go. So, I headed to my nearest Hobby Lobby and bought some black glossy spray paint.
I didn't take pictures of each step, but I was able to easily unscrew the back off the frame so I didn't have to tape anything up. I could just then paint the frame itself with no worries.
After spraying the heck out of this and letting it dry, I am completely happy with the finished product.
What I really like is that some of the gold shows through. I wasn't expecting that but should have been since I didn't sand it down or anything.
I have to say, I sent these pictures to my parents and they both said I should have colored the rose a different color since it looks morbid having a black rose. I say, no way. I think it's perfect the way it is.
And, now it sits perfectly in my hallway.
I also picked up that black fleur-de-lis at Hobby Lobby once I decided what I was going to do.
I think it all came together nicely.
Oh, and that shelf I've had for a few years now but it comes from Hobby Lobby as well.
I may, or may not, have an obsession with Hobby Lobby.

Such a great redo and I love the mirror with your other display pieces. :)

Deletegood job, the hob lob is my favorite craft store, always have discounts and a 40%off coupon online.
ReplyDeleteI know, right Meredith?! I always forget to bring the 40% off coupon with me but, luckily, just bring it up on my phone and show it to them.
DeleteAmazing what spray paint can do. Very cool how the gold shows through. Love the mirror and wall display.
ReplyDeleteThank you, lady! :)
DeleteLove how it turned out. I am the same way, I buy things to revamp and they sit there forever because I can't decided exactly how I want it! Thanks for linking up.
